Graduate & Professional School Acceptance

I came to UNC Asheville with no intention of taking chemistry classes beyond a lab science requirement, but my first semester general chemistry course invoked my interest more than I had expected. I was directed by my advisor to enroll in more chemistry courses, and after two semesters of classes and a summer of research I realized how integral the UNC Asheville chemistry department would be to both my education and life. The individual attention offered by the faculty, coupled with irreplaceable undergraduate research opportunities and augmented by an intensive degree structure designed to challenge and prepare students for a variety of graduate school and career options made the choice to major in chemistry one of the best investments of my undergraduate experience. - Corey McClintock, Class of 2013
