Announcing R. Graham Cooks as the 2012 S. Dexter Squibb lecture speaker

The S. Dexter Squibb lecture series will be held November 12 and 13.  Our speaker this year will be R. Graham Cooks, Henry B. Hass Distinguished Professor of Analytical Chemistry at Purdue University.

Announcing UNC Asheville Chemistry Award Winners for 2010-2011

The winners of the academic awards for 2010-2011 were announced at the UNC Asheville Chemistry Picnic on April 21.  Winners will also be recognized at a reception at Pisgah House

Department of Chemistry Is Awarded National Science Foundation (NSF) S-STEM Grant

Congratulations to Dr. Sally Wasileski as PI on our latest NSF funded grant.  The Chemistry Scholars Program will bring in almost $600,000 to provide need-based scholarships and funding for curricular and co-curricular activities for a cohort of 31 students over the next seven years.

National Chemistry Week Event at The Health Adventure

UNC Asheville Chemistry Students will be leading the "Super Science Saturday" event for October 23 at the Health Adventure using the theme of National Chemistry Week "Behind the scenes with Chemistry".  There will be hands-on experiments designed for children age 8-15.
